Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior has urged the general public to install security surveillance cameras through government-licensed and approved companies registered with the Ministry.
The Ministry in a social media post stated that this would help ensure privacy and enhance security.
The list, which includes 162 companies, can be found here.
It further added that these companies are licensed and approved by the Security Systems Department, under the Ministry's General Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems.
In a previous post, the Ministry had also advised individuals to regularly change their passwords and secure their home surveillance cameras against cyberattacks. It warned against accessing cameras through open or untrusted internet links to ensure privacy remains uncompromised.
