Berlin: The German Federal Prosecution Office on Thursday announced that the person arrested by the German authorities is suspected of having links to the ISIS group but has, and has no ties with the attack on the Borussia Dortmund football team.

The prosecutor's office said in a statement that the investigation so far does not indicate that the defendant is linked to the attack, adding that he joined the ISIS in Iraq in 2014 and kept contacts with the group after his arrival in Germany in 2016.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday as part of an investigation into the three blasts near the Borussia Dortmund bus on Tuesday, injuring two people, including a football player.
