Iraq Central Bank dollar sales up to 31.5%

BAGHDAD: Central Bank of Iraq’s sales of $ increased in yesterday’s auction by 31.5 percent.

The Central Bank sold, during its auction for buying and selling dollars, $189,289,340, up by 31.5 percent compared to last Thursday, when sales amounted to $144,951,021, which the bank covered at a basic exchange rate of 1,305 dinars per dollar for documentary credits international settlements of electronic cards at a price of 1,310 dinars per dollar for foreign transfers, and at a price of 1,310 dinars per dollar in cash.

Most of the dollar sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of (transfers, credits) at $111,689,340, while the rest of $7,600,000 went in the form of cash sales.

The number of banks that bought cash dollars reached 18 banks, while the number of banks that met requests to strengthen balances abroad reached 27 banks, while the total number of exchange and mediation companies participating in the auction was 198 companies.
