Many of the National Sport Day activities will be limited to indoor activities, with the Qatar Meteorology Department forecasting good chance of rains accompanied by thunder tomorrow.
The weather bureau has issued warnings of rains accompanied by thunder and storm for tomorrow. The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rains with thunder at places. The department has also asked public to participate in sporting activities indoor on its social media accounts.
“There is a good chance for moderate to heavy rains on Tuesday according to the weather chart. At least the sky will be overcast with heavy clouds,” one of the weather men told The Peninsula.
Meanwhile, the country received light to moderate rains over the last two days, with the more rains observed in the northern parts of the country. Al Shehaimiya received the highest rains with 9.8mm recorded last
evening and 9.9 mm on Saturday evening. Weather observation until 8:50pm show that Ras Laffan received 8.8mm rainfall, followed by Al Guwayriyah (7.8) and Al Ruwais (5.7mm). However, Doha and the southern parts of the country received rainfall less than 1mm.
Today, the weather will be hazy and partly cloudy with scattered rain which may be thundery at places at times.
Wind speeds can reach up to 26 knots, and wave heights could reach 15 feet during thunderstorms.
Doha, Al Wakrah and Messaieed will have a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, while Al Khor and Ruwais will have maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Dukhan and Abu Samra will have a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Doha will be 21 degrees Celsius, while, Abu Samra, Al Khor, Al Wakrah and Messaieed will have a minimum temperature of 20 degrees followed by Dukhan and Ruwais with 19 degrees Celsius.
