Pak Shama School’s teams dominated the Beach Cricket Championship, which was hosted by the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) on Friday as part of its Winter Camp activities.
Pak Shama School (PSS) outfits played the final of U-14 competition, with PSS (Red) winning the title after beating PSS (Green) in the final. Bravo Academy secured third position in the competition.
The event was organised in cooperation with the Qatar Tourism Authority at Sealine Beach.
As many as 120 students representing 10 schools took part in the event.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Meer, Head of the QOC Accounts Section honoured the winning teams as the QOC allocated valuable prize money for the winners.
Al Meer hailed the success of the championship and participation of a large number of students in the event.
“The success of the championship will motivate us to organise more similar championships and community activities,” he said.
“The camp provides the perfect setting for families and friends to experience a wide range of sports and entertainment activities,” Al Meer added.
Al Meer also appreciated the Qatar Cricket Association officials for their contribution in success of the tournament.
