DOHA: Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) is renovating several homes for families living across the country through its ‘Reach Into Qatar’ project.
The community project in third year is being implemented with Da’am, the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund.
In collaboration with partners, including Gulf Contracting Company and Social Development Centre (SDC), the project carries out renovations with the help of ROTA volunteers who undertake tasks, including interior and exterior painting, general repairs and installation of new furniture and electrical appliances.
Essa Al Mannai, Executive Director, ROTA, said, “Responding to priorities of local communities in need, the project continues to make a positive and meaningful impact in targeted communities.
“It aims to educate, engage and encourage all sectors of the community to participate in volunteerism and community work in Qatar. The project uplifts the wider community through those who give and receive its support,” Al Mannai added.
“We are committed to creating activities that enhance community life and we are delighted to have partnered with local organisations for the successful execution of the project,” Al Mannai added.
‘Reach Into Qatar’ 2016 is providing unique, engaging and educational community service opportunities to local ROTA volunteers, enhancing the development of communities by providing a platform to help the needy.
“I am excited to be involved in this year’s project. It means a lot to me to be able to make a difference to people in local communities in my country. Being part of this campaign also gives me skills and knowledge I can use to respond to other community challenges,” said Hamad Aljubarah, a ROTA volunteer.
