Doha: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has opened ‘Al Mulhim’ festival and exhibition, in the presence of Sheikhs, Ministers and heads of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar.
This year, the festival includes ‘Assalamu alayka ayyohan nabi’ or ‘Peace Be Upon You, O Prophet’ exhibition being held for the first time, Qatar News Agency reports.
RAF honoured its partners in the organisation of the festival and representatives of the sponsors.
In a speech, Ahmed Yousef Fakhro, Head, Ambassadors of Mercy Unit, RAF, and Chairman of the Festival Organising Committee, said ‘Al Mulhim’ (Inspired) Festival has witnessed qualitative enhancement and quantitative expansion in activities.
He also praised coordination among RAF, Qatar Charity and Sheikh Eid Bin Mohammad Al Thani Charitable Association in the organisation of special events for Ramadan to serve citizens and residents.
He said RAF will continue with its majalis visits programmes to speak about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his noble message, and how Muslims can inspire attitudes and lessons from the life of the Prophet (PBUH).
‘Al Mulhim’ seminars will be aired on Al Jazeera Mubasher Channel and RAF Channel on YouTube.
Fakhro said the festival includes a competition ‘Together We Fast’ to encourage children to fast a number of days according to their age and that more than 900 children have registered for the competition so far.
On the sidelines of the opening, Minister of State and Board Chairman of Qatar Charity H E Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani stressed the importance of integration and cooperation among all charity organisations in Qatar.
He called upon the public to visit the exhibition which present a complete view on the life of the Prophet (PBUH).
