New buildings for QU colleges next year

DOHA: Qatar University (QU) is expecting to have new buildings for College of Engineering and Pharmacy by the beginning of 2017. Student accommodation and classrooms building for girls are expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year and open in the beginning of the academic year 2016-2017.
QU also plans to build a multi-storey car park which can accommodate up to 2,500 vehicles. This year, 95 new parking slots were allocated in addition to a car park built in 2015 for 510 vehicles. In total, QU will have parking for 8,150 vehicles. All parking facilities are built ensuring the safety of motorists and pedestrians. In May 2015, work started for a railway station as part of development to enhance transport services and preparations for FIFA World Cup 2022. QU has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Kahramaa to establish a new electricity station with a capacity of 80MW and work is expect to start this year.
