DOHA: Russian group “Stanitsa” performed at Katara Esplanade on Monday and Tuesday as part the Cultural Diversity Festival organised by the Cultural Village Foundation — Katara in cooperation with the Unesco office in Doha.
The troupe staged folkloric performances that reflected the way of life in the Kuban region. The performers greeted the audience with a military performance entitled “March”, followed by “Kazachok” which is a traditional dance from southern Russia. Other folkloric items included Small Pillow, “Naurskaia” performance which originated from the North Caucasus, and “Pleskach” show.
