Doha: Latest weather chart updates indicate that unstable weather is expected to affect the country from today evening until Friday midday due to the extension of a low pressure system.
Cloud bands have reached Qatar since this morning with chances for scattered rain today evening. In addition, chances of thunder rains are very likely from early Wednesday until Friday midday. However, the rain is expected to be at its peak tomorrow (Wednesday).
The prevailing winds during this period will be easterly to southeasterly and moderate to fresh becoming strong at times, especially during thunder rains which might be accompanied by strong sudden winds reaching 30 knots (about 55 km/hour) leading to rise in dust and a temporary reduction in visibility to 1 km or less in some areas.
Qatar Meteorology Department has urged all people to be cautious and to avoid sea activities as well as to follow latest weather updates and warnings through their different official social media accounts.
