Fruit & vegetable prices fall in Central Market

Prices of vegetables and fruits declined significantly in the Central Market last month. The vegetable prices declined 15 percent in December 2016 compared to the correspondent month in 2015 at Doha-Central Market. 
However, the prices of vegetables witness only four percent fall in December compared to November last year. The figure was revealed by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in its monthly report about the prices of vegetables, fruits, fish, meat and fodder.
Prices of fruits came down 11 percent in December 2016 compared to the correspondent month in 2015. Prices of fruits also fell nine percent last month compared to the previous month. Fish priced declined nine percent in December 2016 compared to December 2015. Fish price also went down eight percent in December 2016 compared to November 2016.
Meat prices were stable at Central Market last month. The live animals were available at reasonable prices ranging from QR450 for a Omani goat (lowest price) to QR1,300 for a Syrian sheep (the highest price). The cheapest was Australian sheep at QR350.
