Qatar Petroleum (QP) will honour a total of 181 QP-sponsored graduates at a formal ceremony that will be held tonight at Qatar National Convention Centre.
The annual QP Graduates Recognition Ceremony will honour ten Qatari nationals who have received their master’s degrees, 104 students who have earned bachelor’s degrees, 30 others who have received their diplomas, six students who have completed their Clerical Preparation Program (CPP), and 31 students who have received their TAFE-Certificate III.
The QP graduates who will receive recognition during the event include 123 male students and 57 female students, all of whom have successfully accomplished their QP scholarships or training programmes in various fields of study.
In addition to H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, the ceremony will also be attended by QP Board members, directors, corporate managers and department managers as well as by top officials from QP’s joint ventures and subsidiaries.
In line with the event, a number of former Qatari and expatriate employees of QP will also be honoured during the recognition ceremony for their significant role in the early stages of QP.
Cardiff University, which is one of the leading educational institutions in Britain, will likewise be given recognition for its valuable role in educating a large number of Qatari nationals under QP’s scholarship programme.
QP has many scholarship programmes, which offer young Qatari students a wide range of education and specialised training opportunities in several universities, colleges and training centres in Qatar and abroad.
Many QP-sponsored students are enrolled in educational institutions in France, Britain, USA, Australia and Oman, in addition to colleges and universities in Qatar.
