Doha: The Mercure Hotel announced the launch of many latest products and plans to unveil a new menu at one of its most prominent restaurants, La Villa.

“During a staff meeting, we initially had plans to rebrand the restaurant on the 12th floor,” Kumudu Fonseka, Acting General Manager, told a press conference held to announce the hotel’s latest developments at hand.

“We wanted to develop an entirely new restaurant with a new theme. However, staff suggested that the restaurant is a highlight among its goers and an overhaul would disappoint the hotel’s guests.

“We settled on the decision to introduce an entirely new menu instead. A menu that allows the restaurant’s guests to choose from a variety of dishes from the East and the West, and we’ve named it the Silk Road menu.”

Chef Darsha Fernando highlighted each dish on the menu. Marsha said some of the signature dishes on the new menu such as ‘La Villa Salad’ were created after staff feedback and suggestions and Executive Chef Lahcen incorporated it into a well displayed ‘Salad Dish’.

Fonseka said more choices are being developed and the Takeaway menu, 24 hours menu and pizza menu, among others, will be launched.

He said five Qatari dishes will be added to the La Villa menu. Lahcen spoke about the menu’s special dishes such as the Mercure Special Pizza with hammour and tuna toppings and the Panini Sandwich which are all affordably priced. The menu offers the guests burgers, crepes and more.

Gabriel Fernandes, Director, Sales & Marketing, said the hotel is organising a Pool Brunch in celebration of Eid tomorrow and on Tuesday from10 am to 3pm. Prices range from QR120 for adults to QR60 for children.

Guests will be able to enjoy the swimming pool and its facilities, wide-spread buffet with barbeque, games and a live band performance.

On Fridays and Saturdays, hotel guests will be treated to a Buffet Lunch where prices are nearly 50 percent lower than on weekdays and range from QR50 for adults to QR25 for children.
