Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the jewellery retailer, is organising a free medical camp, titled Care & Aware, in association with Aster Medical Centre, Wellcare Group and Qatar KMCC, on September 20 from 6.30am to 11am at National Nursery School, Al Khor. This is the second edition of the Care & Aware free medical camp.
Aiming to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all, Malabar Gold & Diamonds (Care & Aware team) has been conducting several such health check-up camps in different parts of the Middle East in association with like-minded organisations as a part of their CSR activities.
The Care & Aware team is formed by Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Aster Medical Center, Well Care Group and Qatar KMCC Kozhikode District committee to conduct various health care activities all over Qatar focusing mainly the low income expatriate community residing in Qatar. Their first camp was held in November 2012 at MES Indian School and is planning to conduct more camps in the outskirts of Doha.
“Nearly thousand patients were checked including house maids and labours and the response to the first camp from the public encouraged us to do more in the field,” a company statement said
The diagnosis is based on pre registration. The check up and consultations are done by doctors from Aster Medical Centre including General Physicians, Dermatologists, Orthopedicians and ENT. The residents can check Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol (as per doctor’s prescription) and can under go physical examination free of cost.
