Seven food outlets shut down for flouting norms

DOHA: The Doha Municipality inspectors have shut down seven food outlets for violating the law, numbered 8, of the Organization of Human Food Control-1990.
  Two restaurants have been closed for selling expired food and also for preparing food in unhealthy conditions. One was closed for 30 days in Al Refaa, and the other for 15 days in Rawdat Al Khail. The inspectors have also partially closed five restaurants located in Al Salatah, Onaiza, Msheireb, Al Ghanim Al Atiq, and Al Rifaa. The temporary closure varied between 10 to 30 days.

The reasons for closure was serving food unfit for human consumption, expired food, and preparing food in unhealthy conditions.
The inspectors said the campaign against violators will continue on food outlets to ensure that they are complying with health specifications. The aim of such campaigns is to ensure consumer safety.
Meanwhile, Al Rayyan Municipality in collaboration with the Public Cleaning Department has removed porta cabins, staircases and other things encroaching on state properties.
