Doha: Qatari Committee for Reconstruction of Gaza Strip Chairman Ambassador Mohammed Ismail Al Emadi has called on leaders and representatives of the Palestinian factions to renounce internal differences and work to unify the Palestinian ranks.
Addressing a large number of members of Palestinian Legislative Council from various political parties and representatives of the Palestinian factions in Gaza, he said Qatar always wishes the Palestinian people good and has been supporting the Palestinian cause at all international forums.
He referred to his meeting last Saturday with ministers in successive Palestinian governments, members of the Palestinian unity government and officials of Palestinian National Authority institutions and said it was a step to open the door of dialogue and debate, achieve the Palestinian-Palestinian rapprochement and an attempt by Qatar to bring views closer and overcome obstacles faced by Palestinians in Gaza.
Ismail Haniyeh, Deputy Head of Political Bureau of Hamas Movement, also praised Qatar’s role in reconstruction efforts and support for the Palestinian people.
Sakhr Bseiso, member of Fatah Central Committee, stressed that the “meeting is part of Qatar’s continued efforts to enable us to implement what we have agreed upon”.
