Doha: Qatari institutions bought marginally more shares in June compared with the percentage of shares of the total value bought in May, according to Market Operations and Control Department analyses of Qatar Exchange.
Qatari institutions bought 27.67 percent and non-Qatari institutions bought 24.20 percent of shares of the total value of transactions registered in the month of June. Both figures are slightly higher compared to the figures noted in the month of May 2013.
Qatari institutions bought 26.86 percent shares while non-Qatari institutions bought 19.96 percent shares of the total value of transactions registered in May. Qatari and non-Qatari institutional selling was higher in June compared to the figures in May. Qatari selling was marginally higher in June at 23.66 percent compared to 23.57 percent in May. Non-Qatari institutional selling was notably higher in June at 23.25 percent compared to 16.56 percent in May.
Among individuals, there was a drop in Qatari transactions in buying and selling in June compared to May.
In June 35.85 percent bought and 39.30 percent sold compared to 40.64 percent and 45.25 percent respectively in May. There was a marginal drop in buying and selling shares among non-Qatari individuals in June from 12.54 percent and 14.62 percent registered in May to 12.29 percent and 13.79 percent respectively. QNA
