Oslo: During their Wednesday meeting on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, discussed a range of regional issues of mutual concern with a primary focus on developments in the Gaza Strip, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting addressed efforts toward de-escalation and the resumption of the ceasefire in Gaza, as well as preparations for the upcoming two-state solution conference to be held in New York later this month, amid the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The Foreign Ministers also discussed the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee's work and upcoming steps to support the Palestinian people, stressing their firm rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land.

The meeting also covered the latest developments in Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, the Horn of Africa, the Yemeni crisis, and maritime security in the Red Sea, with both sides emphasizing the importance of intensifying joint Arab efforts to safeguard the region’s security and stability.

Regarding bilateral relations, the two sides explored ways to enhance economic and investment ties, with the Egyptian Foreign Minister expressing interest in accelerating bilateral cooperation across various fields and maintaining close coordination on mutual concerns.
