Diabetes check up at Katara

DOHA: More than 200 people received free medical checkup for diabetes at a mobile clinic set up at Katara cultural village under Action on Diabetes (AoD) program sponsored by Maersk Oil Qatar on the occasion of GCC Health Week.
AoD, the leading public-private partnership initiated and funded by Maersk Oil Qatar to tackle diabetes in Qatar, further highlighted its role as one of the leading programmes focused on tackling the condition by bringing GCC Health Week to a close with a second successful screening event, said a statement.
The event organised at Katara Cultural Village, saw more than 200 members of the local community screened by diabetes nurses at a mobile clinic recently. 
Healthcare educators also provided recommendations at the clinic on how to reduce the risk of developing diabetes in the future and distributed brochures and educational information on the importance of early detection and tips on living a healthy lifestyle.The Peninsula
