Al Rayyan Municipality issued most building permits last month

DOHA: Al Rayyan Municipality issued the most building permits last month, outnumbering the Doha Municipality.
The number of building permits decreased 21 percent in April compared to March, according to data released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics in a monthly Statistics of Building Permits issued on Monday. The decrease was seen in all municipalities except Al Wakrah and Al Khor, where there was an increase. 
Al Rayyan municipality (including Shihaniya) issued 172 permits, 30 percent of the total permits issued last month.
Doha municipality came second with 142 permits, 25 percent of total, followed by Al Wakrah with 97 permits (17 percent), and Al Khor with 56 permits (10 percent).
Al Da’ayen Municipality issued 49 permits (nine percent), Umm Slal 42 permits, (seven percent) and Al Shamal 10 permits (2 percent).
New building permits (residential and non-residential) constitute 56 percent (319 permits) of the total building permits issued in April, while the “additions permits” constituted 40pc (228 permits), and “fencing permits” four percent (21 permits).
Among new residential buildings, villas’ permits top the list, accounting for 62pc (178 permits) of all new residential buildings permits, followed by dwellings of beneficiaries of housing loans by 19pc (55 permits) and apartments buildings by 12 percent (35 permits).The Peninsula
