Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has joined forces, on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, with the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioral and Communication Difficulties (Alia for Early Intervention) and the Bahrain Autistics Society — providing them with complimentary airline tickets for use in support of their various annual calendar of activities that are geared towards raising awareness of the disorder, its prevalence and ways to manage it.
Gulf Air Manager, Communications & Sponsorships, Talal Al Mahmood, met with Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioral and Communication Difficulties Board Members Fathi Matar and Fatima Arrar and Bahrain Autistics Society Head of Public Relations Ahlam Juma and Head of Media Committee Zakareya Hashim — presenting them all with complimentary airline tickets at Gulf Air’s headquarters in Muharraq earlier this month.
World Autism Awareness Day aims to increase global awareness about people, especially children, with autism. It is an internationally recognised day - on the 2nd of April every year as declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007.
