Doha: Qatar Blood Service urged blood donors to donate as HMC’s Blood Donor Center is in urgent need of O+ and O- blood groups.
“Qatar Blood Services is urgently in need of blood donors from the following RH groups: O-,O+,” tweeted Hamad Medical Corporation.
It also said that donation centers follow the highest standards of safety and infection control and take extra precautions to help ensure the safety of employees and donors.
People can donate by visiting the Blood Donor Center (next to Hamad General Hospitality) from Sunday to Thursday 7am to 9:30pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm. Closed on Fridays.
Blood donation is a very safe procedure and adverse effects are very rare and even when occur they are usually very mild and post no threat to the donor. To ensure that the process of donation is safe, potential donors are very carefully assessed for suitability before they can donate and to make sure that the procedure caries no hazard to the donors.
