DOHA: Al Markhiya Gallery yesterday announced that it would hold an exhibition entitled “120/20” at “Katara” next Tuesday and will continue until the March 8.

The Gallery explained that the exhibition will be attended by a group of Qatari, Gulf and Arab artists. Each artist will present a collection of his works of art, in the form of a mural painting. Since its opening in September, the Gallery has been organizing a number of exhibitions, both in its new premises and at Katara, in an attempt to revitalize the plastic art movement in Qatar.

Recently the Gallery held the “50 by 50” exhibition, which was attended by many Qatari artists and residents. It is worth mentioning that Al Markhiya Gallery plays an important role in the development of the cultural and plastic art in the country by representing the private sector and proving its ability to support art and creativity in Qatar.

Al Markhiya Gallery was established with a mission to promote and represent a distinctive group of emerging and established Arab artists in Qatar, the region and throughout the world.

The last two exhibitions organised by the Gallery at the end of last year are: “Another Dream” for the artists Nasser Al Attiyah (Qatar), Meshail Faisal (Kuwait), and the exhibition entitled “Lamha” by the Sudanese artist Rashid Diab, which continues until January 18.
