Doha, Qatar: The 6th Summer Forum has commenced at the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, drawing the participation of 120 male and female students, equally divided between both genders.
The forum aims to deepen the students’ understanding of their religion and culture, while fostering their diverse personal skills.
The two-week programme features a rich lineup of educational and recreational activities. This includes sports events and field trips to some of the country’s landmark destinations, such as the National Museum of Qatar, the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, and Al Rayyan Sports Club.
Additionally, the itinerary incorporates Quranic recitation correction sessions and lessons reinforcing essential jurisprudential concepts (Fiqh).
The activities of the first two days focused on registration, programme orientation, and Quranic recitation and exegesis (Tafsir). Students were introduced to the center’s prominent landmarks, facilities, and services, alongside attending Tafsir sessions on Surah Al-Fatihah.
Over the course of the programme, students will also explore the key meanings and themes of Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Mu’awwidhatayn (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas), Al-Kahf, and Ya-Sin, maximising their educational benefit.
The tours offered an immersive look into the center’s landmarks, featuring a recreational tour, a virtual reality (VR) experience, and fun interactive games. Furthermore, the students visited the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque, where they learned about the center’s pivotal role in introducing Islam and its culture to mosque visitors.
The center also organised a dedicated sports programme hosted at Al Rayyan Sports Club.
Building on its legacy, the previous edition of the programme was highly successful in attracting a large cohort of students and enhancing their skills, receiving stellar feedback and active engagement from parents.
