Al Rayyan Municipality issues 152 building permits

Al Rayyan Municipality came top among the municipalities in issuance of building permits in July with 152 building permits; which is 24% of the total issued permits. Al Da’ayen municipality came in second place with 132 permits.
The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics yesterday shared the data of the 31th issue of monthly Statistics of Building Permits issued by all municipalities of the State.
According to the data on building permits issued during the month of July 2017, Al Rayyan municipality comes at the top of the municipalities where the number of building permits issued were 152 permits, i.e. 24% of the total issued permits while Al Da’ayen municipality came in second place with 132 permits, i.e. 21%, followed by municipality of Doha with 128 permits (20%), then municipality of Al Wakrah with 103 permits, i.e.16%.
The rest of the municipalities are as follows : Umm Slal 44 permits (7%), Al Sheehaniya 29 permits (5%), Al Khor 28 permits (4%), and finally Al Shamal 13 permits (2%).
In terms of type of permits issued, data indicates that the new building permits (residential and non-residential) constitutes 59% (372 permits) of the total building permits issued during the month of July 2017, while the percentage of additions permits constituted 38% (240 permits), and finally fencing permits with 3% (17 permits).
By analyzing new residential buildings permits data, we find that villas’ permits top the list, accounting for 52% (161 permits) of all new residential buildings permits, followed by dwellings of housing loans by 38% (119 permits) and apartments buildings by 7% (22 permits).
On the other hand, commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings permits with 50% (30 permits), followed by mosques and industrial buildings e.g. workshops and factories with 23% (14 permits) for each type, then governmental buildings with 3% (2 permits).
Comparing number of permits issued in July 2017 with those issued in the previous month we noted a general increase of 53%.
This increase was clearly noted in most municipalities Umm Slal (144%), Wakrah (110%), Al Da’ayen and Al Shamal (86%) each, Doha (39%), Al Sheehaniya (32%), Rayyan (23%), while Al Khor municipality which maintained the same number of issued permits
