DOHA: The Traffic Department has started installing five new radars on February 22 Street that can detect several violations.
The new cameras can catch violations such as overtaking from right, stopping in emergency parking slots and in the yellow box and parking in areas dedicated for the disabled, Al Sharq reports.
They can also catch motorists failing to fasten seat belts or talking on mobile phone while driving.
A single radar can record all these violations.
A senior official of the General Directorate of Traffic recently announced plans to install 52 new radars across Doha to catch violations of the traffic law, especially overtaking from right and stopping in the yellow box.
