Dr. Khalid Al-Shafi, Editor-in-Chief, The Peninsula, received Turkish Ambassador to Qatar, Ahmet Demirok, in his office yesterday. Dr. Al-Shafi briefed him on the evolution of the newspaper and progress since its first edition to the recent re-launch under his management. The ambassador praised the newspaper’s role at local and region levels, describing it as ‘‘Real Qatari Newspaper’’. He also expressed willingness to bolster cooperation with the daily, benefiting from the current excellent ties between Turkey and Qatar.
