Doha, Qatar: Qatar has repeatedly warned against escalation and its transformation into a regional war, adding that it was still possible to contain it.

Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari said this while speaking at a press conference today, March 10, 2026 when he said this adding that it is a very dangerous trajectory for the region.

He warned, "if this left unchecked and conflict moved from negotiation rooms to battlefields will lead to even more catastrophic results for the people of the region."

Al Ansari also spoke against targeting vital infrastructures of any kind that sustains people's lives as this can lead to a grave danger and needs to stop immediately.

He said that targeting vital infrastructures such as water desalination facilities, water tanks, food reserves, medicine reserves or medicine production facilities, is a risk that the region cannot afford to take.

"We will see a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of these attacks. We have seen these attacks in both sides of the Gulf," Al Ansari warned, adding that such attacks affect people's lives immediately.

"Civilian people, entities should not be targeted in any war, in any conflict, in any way, and this is the worst way to attack them, to make life impossible," Al Ansari said, adding that Qatar has taken all precautions to ensure that this doesnt happen.

Al Ansari urged all parties to take immediate action to halt any attacks that would cause damage to such facilities and infrastructure.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said that attacks on energy facilities that have happened also on both sides is a dangerous precedent, which will cause not only the region to lose economically, but it will see repercussions throughout the world.

He further welcomed the contribution of any parties in efforts towards ending the war.
