BPS celebrates National Sport Day 2021

Doha: Qatar National Sports Day was celebrated virtually yesterday, with all fanfare and exuberance, by all BPS stakeholders jointly. 

Addressing the audience, the Chief Guest, Gope Shahani, Chairman, remarked, “Qatar National Sports Day is celebrated to promote a healthy lifestyle among its population, and I am happy that our school is doing all that it can to celebrate all the national days and festivals.” 

Highlighting the importance of physical activities amidst this Pandemic on our mental makeup, Shahani said, “Sports offer, children and adults alike, a change from the monotony of their daily life. It is also a useful means of entertainment and physical activity for them. It is an excellent tool to build self-confidence.”

While offering felicitations, Dr. Mohan Thomas, Director of Birla Public School & President of Indian Sports Center, Qatar, said, “As we celebrate the day, all must recognise sports as a choice in profession, the new ESports in Qatar is a major game-changer, and students can decide to try this as a goal to achieve.”

Earlier, A P Sharma, Principal, reiterated that it was amazing to live in a country where sports is practiced as a routine. He added that the brain becomes active when students play and develop the ability to think. 

BPS organised various indoor games for students, parents, and teachers. The winners of these events were announced and appreciated.
