HMC receives 2,181 cases on third day of Eid

DOHA: Emergency units of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) received 2,181 cases on the third day of Eid Al-Fitr yesterday, totalling 5,166 in the past three days.
The emergency unit at Hamad General Hospital received 546 cases, including four cases of road accident injuries, said Dr. Ihab Saed, Consultant, Emergency Medicine, HGH.
Cases of abdominal distress, gastritis and indigestion and injuries in road accidents increased on the third day of Eid compared to the two previous days, he said.
The emergency unit at Al Wakra Hospital received 509 cases of which 18 were transferred to the internal units of the hospital, said Dr Muaid Qasim, Head of the Unit. The paediatric emergency units at HMC received 1,126 cases yesterday, said Dr Mohammad Al Amiri, Head of the Units. The units in Al Saad, Al Rayan and Al Matar received 311, 91 and 28 cases, respectively, Al Sharq reports. Ambulance Services received 254 calls.
