Doha: The President of elev8 Maria Balbas shared her expertise in digital upskilling and transformative education with industry peers recently during an informative panel session at the prestigious Qatar ICT Forum 2023. Underlining her reputation as one of the industry’s most respected thought leaders, Balbas was invited to participate in a 60-minute session titled Bridging the Skills Gap for Digital Acceleration, where she offered valuable insights on the vital role training plays for organizations who wish to keep pace with the latest innovative technologies.

Commenting on the best strategies to ensure digital readiness, Balbas stated: “Bridging the skills gap requires a strategic and proactive approach that prioritizes the development of the capabilities needed to drive and unlock the benefits of digital transformation. One billion jobs worldwide are set to be transformed by technology by 2030, making it more important than ever to develop a highly competitive workforce that can meet the constant and growing demand for digital talent.” As a leading global expert on developing upskilling programs, Balbas’ visionary stewardship has been instrumental in positioning elev8 at the forefront of the digital skilling revolution.

“Organizations must foster a culture of continuous learning that empowers team members to develop their knowledge and skills. As a global learning partner with a proven track record in helping governments and large enterprises bring their digital transformation ambitions to life, elev8 is proud to lead the way for digital skilling in Qatar and beyond,” she added. In March 2022, elev8 founded the Digital Center of Excellence in Msheireb, Downtown Doha, in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Microsoft. The first-of-its-kind facility was launched as an integral part of Qatar’s National Skilling Program to play a critical role in developing a highly-skilled workforce capable of handling the challenges of the 21st century.

The CRA also unveiled ‘Qatar’s ICT Landscape and Digital Trends 2022’ during the event, an informative new report based on a comprehensive research study that takes a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry.
