Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday launched the Qatar Digital Government (QDG) Training Program - a new strategic initiative developed under the Ministry of Transport and Communications to improve ICT skills of government employees.
This came on the third day of QITCOM 2017; the fourth edition of Qatar’s information and communication technology exhibition and conference which concluded yesterday.
Through specialised, accredited e-government training, the QDG Training Program aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of government services in line with the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy.
Training is available to government professionals currently working in ICT, and is delivered through partnerships with various public and private entities, which are internationally recognised as being leaders in the ICT field. The Program will ensure Qatar’s readiness for the digital age.
The Program is being implemented in collaboration with a number of partners from the government sector, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs and Community College of Qatar CCQ. Partners from the private sector include Microsoft and Cisco, and others.
The Program comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts of supporting the implementation of the programs and initiatives of the QDG.
Minister of Transport and Communications HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti said; “We are glad for the launching of the Qatar Digital Government Training Program today as we aim to train and provide qualified national leaders to ensure the sustainability of QDG projects and put its strategic plan into action. The Program will be training and providing national professionals in this domain and making them available for government entities.”
To this effect, the working group in charge of the implementation of the program continues working to attract more partners in the fields of technology and training to enrich the content in order to fulfil the current and future needs for all government entities.
