DOHA: A major exhibition ‘What About the Art? Contemporary Art from China’ will open to the public at Qatar Museums Gallery Al Riwaq on Monday.
Curated by internationally-acclaimed New York-based Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang, the exhibition will feature 15 contemporary Chinese artists and will be a major highlight of Qatar-China 2016 Year of Culture.
Preparations are under way for the opening of the expo which will highlight diverse works, including paintings, sculptures, installations, videos, performances and interactive video game design.
Artworks exemplifying every artist’s artistic language and methodology will be displayed in individual galleries, a curatorial approach highlighting the distinctive creative pursuit of each individual participant.
