Ministry picks 12 mobile truck operators through raffle draw

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce allocated 12 investment opportunities for mobile trucks through an open raffle draw held at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, yesterday.

The investment opportunities include five in food sector, four maintenances and clearance services and three for services like beauty salons, barbers and tailors.

Some 170 people were qualified for the raffle draw out of whom 12 investors were selected for the licensing of mobile trucks. Apart from one investor, two reserves were also selected for each services. The maintenance activities include car maintenance and tires, clearances and home maintenance.

The winners will have to visit the Registration and Commercial Licensing Department at the ministry’s office in Lusail to get the licences and fulfil the requirements. The ministry also urged the investors to adhere to the regulations and rules of each business and not to use the licence for other purposes, and also to respect traffic rules and avoid obstructing traffic flow.

Mobile trucks should be kept away from entry points of schools, hospitals, mosques and ministries and be in a distance of 50 meters from shops and outlets doing the same activities. Licence holders are also required to keep the place clean and tidy while working or when moving to another location.
