Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will implement a temporary closure on part of the north-bound lane of East Industrial Street leading to Doha for a distance of 250 metres, as shown in the map.
The closure to be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Department, starts on Thursday and lasts six months.
Traffic on the closed section of the street will be diverted to the opposite side of the road (southbound lane), which is divided to have both directions (to and from Doha city), with one lane in each direction.
The diversion will have minimal impact on traffic and vehicles will still have full access to all properties.
The diversion is required to start works on the East West Corridor Interchange with Al Aziziya Street Extension as part of the East West Corridor Expressway project.
Ashghal will install signs advising motorists of the diversion and has urged road users to abide by speed limits and follow signs for safety. The Peninsula
