DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) will provide household items worth QR50,000, and other gifts to each of 280 youth planning to get married.
The youth have been selected for RAF’s seventh marriage programme ‘Efaf-7’ to help them get married.
The programme includes a five-day mandatory pre-marriage counselling to help combat the escalating rate of divorce and contribute to helping maintain family and social stability.
Study suggests that the people who underwent such courses are less prone to marital problems than those who haven’t.
In the past six years, 1,720 youth (male and female) have tied knot, said a statement issued by RAF yesterday.
The target to help 2,000 youth get married will be completed by the latest edition of the programme, which begins on Sunday.
Lectures on the religious, economic and social aspects of marriage will be delivered by experts.
