Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange index gained 22.27 points at the beginning of trading yesterday, as the general index rose by 0.19 percent to reach 11639 points, compared to the levels it reached at the end of trading on Tuesday.
Data issued by the Qatar Stock Exchange attributed the high performance to the growth of the banking and financial services sector by 3.92 percent, the insurance sector by 2.84 percent, the communications sector by 1.70 percent, and the real estate sector by 0.75 percent. On the other hand, the consumer goods and services sector declined by 0.05 percent and the industrial sector by 0.46. percent, followed by the transport sector by 0.92 percent.
At 10:00, Qatar Stock Exchange recorded transactions worth QR45.545m, distributed among 13.778 million shares, with the implementation of 1594 transactions.
