Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) plans to extend the next training workshop to three days.
The move aims at giving enough time to participants so that they can discuss the issues with experts in details RAF held a two-day workshop to train employees working with local and international humanitarian organisations recently.
The workshop, entitled “Towards Building Better Humanitarian Response' was held by RAF in collaboration with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA).
“The workshop received overwhelming response from charity and humanitarian organizations, said Dr Omar Taha, Head of the workshop organizing committee.
“The workshop was attended by the senior officials from the units of the humanitarian aid at their organizations. The program schedule was a little bit tight due to limited time. But next time, we will hold the workshop for three days in a bid to give enough times to the participants to discuss the issues with experts in details”, said Taha.
Taha said: “Three countries Yemen, Iraq, and Syria are facing unrest are in the Middle East. And due to security reasons, most of the charities operating in these countries are local and regional and are unable to do their jobs professionally due to lack of proper training."
