Katara European Jazz Festival ends

Atom String Quartet from Poland brought the curtains down on the third Katara European Jazz Festival on Monday night at Katara Building 5.
The quartet’s performance concluded a week-long grand musical event featuring leading and globally-recognised European bands which attracted jazz lovers from various nationalities.
Atom String Quartet have played at European music festivals, such as Berliner Jazztage, Jazz Baltica, Festival Veranos de la Villa Madrid, Jazz Jamboree, Ethno Jazz Festival or Solidarity of Arts. It has collaborated with renowned artistes, such as Bobby McFerrin, Gil Goldstein, Paolo Fresu, Wolfgang Haffner, Christian von Kaphengst, Rupert Stamm, Mathias Haus, and Vladislav `Adzik` Sendecki.
The festival boasted incredibly diverse live sets across its carefully curated seven days. It witnessed nine marvellous European jazz performances, that included “Ezza” from France, “The Golden Circle Quartet” from Italy, “Trio Mario Laginha from Portugal, “Three Fall” from Germany, and “Yildiz Ibrahimova Quartet” from Bulgaria. The festival continued with participation of Spanish band “Radio Pesquera”, and Austrian band “Namby Pamby Boy”, followed by Swiss performers “Simon Wyrsch Quartet”.
Katara European jazz festival is jointly organised by the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, and the embassies of Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland and Qatar Music Academy.
The festival was supported by Qatar Airways (Official Airline), Qatar Music Academy, and Fnac Qatar (Darwish Holding).
