Adult Education Section at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has registered this academic year a total of 8,400 students to learn in eight schools.
There are 500 students more this year compared to last year, said Ali Jassem Al Kuwari, head of the Adult Education Section at the ministry. He said that 1,300 students had registered online during the first five days.
There was also direct registration by visiting the nearest school to the location he/she lives in, regardless it is primary, preparatory or secondary schools, Al Kuwari observed.
According to the new system, a maximum 250 students will be enrolled in the evening adult education programme in each of the eight schools- three for boys and five for girls.
These schools have begun to receive students starting from September 18, and they are operating from 4.30pm to 8pm, he added. The ministry has provided these schools with best managers, teachers and facilities to provide candidates with quality education.
