Qatar Indian Football Forum (QIFF), an expatriate organisation that promotes sports and football events in the Indian community in Qatar, has announced the schedule for the seventh edition of the Inter District Football Tournament for the Western Union–City Exchange Trophy, which is organised by them every year. The inaugural match of the tournament will start at Doha Stadium on Thursday, October 24 at 6pm.
The inaugural function will be held on Friday, October 25 at 4.30pm at Doha Stadium. Sixteen football teams representing various districts of Kerala, a state in India, will participate in this year’s tournament, and the matches will be held on all Thursdays and Fridays from October 24 to December 13.
QIFF is planning to have the matches held in other stadiums to accommodate more spectators, considering big turnouts in the past to watch the semi-final and final matches.
