He was appointed as Minister of Finance on June 26, 2013. He was Chief Executive of Qatar National Bank Group since August 2005. He was also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Banks and also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Advisory Council for emerging markets of the International Finance Institute.
