QatarDebate signs MoU with Ibn Khaldun University

Doha, Qatar: QatarDebate, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  with Ibn Khaldun University in Istanbul as part of the international partnerships that it has been working on since its inception.

The memorandum focuses on the strengthening of cooperation between the two sides on providing support in the form of programs that serve the educational community.

The MoU was officially signed by the President of Ibn Khaldun University, Dr. Atilla Arkan, and Dr. Hayat Abdullah Maarafi, Executive Director of QatarDebate, in the presence of Abdulrahman Al Subaie, Director of Programs at QatarDebate and Anas Yalman – Head of International Relations at Ibn Khaldun University and Abdul Aziz Al-Shamlan – Special projects lead at the Centre.

Under the MoU, QatarDebate and Ibn Khaldun University aim to explore opportunities for cooperation in academic fields related to debates, the most important of which are the development of curriculums and communication skills among students and the exchange of experiences in organizing events, tournaments, training workshops, and others.

In this context, both parties will seek to provide training opportunities for students, teachers and arbitrators, and research.

The agreement falls within the framework of the efforts of both parties and their commitment to develop the academic capabilities of students and work on the supporting a generation of young people who are capable of critical thinking skills and accept others with their different opinions.

Ibn Khaldun University hosted among its corridors most of the rounds of the sixth championship of university debates in Arabic in Istanbul 2022, and the center looks forward to strengthening bridges of cooperation with partners in Turkey to serve our mission in the field of spreading the art of debates and working to make a positive impact through the events organised by the centre.
