Doha: The management, staff and students of the Birla Public School gathered together to mourn the death of B K Birla, the founder of the institution and a noted Philanthropist and a lectern industrialist.
He is the author of several books, including an autobiography entitled ‘Swanthah Sukhaya’, where he recounts his early childhood experience of growing up in pre-independence of India, and specially, his time with Mathama Gandhi. B K Birla was the Chairman of various charity trusts which runs Engineering colleges and schools. He established Birla Public School, Doha in 2004.
Gope Shahani, Vice-Chairman, paid his tribute to the departed soul and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. Dr. Mohan Thomas, Director of Birla Public School, cherished his meetings with Birlaji and remembered the whole-hearted support extended to the school. Birlaji had visited the school several times in spite of his old age was a testimony of his dedication to education of children. Every visit, he inspired birlites with his advices.
C V Rappai, Director of Birla Public School, offered prayers for the departed soul along with the school community and urged everyone to continue to strive for fulfilling the educational mission and vision of the late founder. He commented that our children should be taught about Birlaji’s life, struggles, success and his contributions.
A P Sharma, Principal of Birla Public School, led the assembly summing up the great services the late B K Birlaji had rendered to the community in the field of education for over about half a century in India.
