HMC emergency units receive 1,822 cases on second day of Eid

DOHA: Emergency units run by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) received 1,822 cases on the second day of Eid Al-Fitr from 6am to 6pm.
The emergency unit at Hamad General Hospital received 588 cases yesterday including four persons injured in road accidents.
One person died in road accident, Al Sharq reported quoting a consultant at Emergency Medicine at Hamad Hospital, Dr Omar Al Mahin.
The unit also received 12 heart patients in critical condition. They were transferred to Heart Hospital at HMC.
Number of those injured in road accidents increased slightly on the second day of Eid compared to Wednesday. The emergency unit has 25 to 30 doctors during peak hours— from 6pm to midnight, said Al Mahin.
The emergency unit at Al Wakra Hospital received 332 cases yesterday, said Dr Muaid Qasim, Head of the unit. Only ten cases were referred to the internal units of the hospital for further treatment and the remaining patients were discharged, said Qasim.
The paediatric emergency units run by HMC received 902 cases, Dr Mohamad Al Amiri, Head of the Units, said.
