The car ferry ‘Corse’ operated by the SNCM (National Maritime Corsica-Mediterranean company) is seen in the port of Marseille yesterday. SNCM employees have been on strike since June 24, the third labour action this year by workers from the loss-making SNCM, which connects France to Corsica and North Africa. Workers oppose a plan to lay off 500 workers and the company’s refusal to buy new ships.
