First inmate cohort graduates from Community College of Qatar: MoI

Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions at the Ministry of Interior celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of inmates who completed their studies and earned a Business Administration Diploma from the Community College of Qatar (CCQ). 

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee for Penal and Correctional Institutions; H.E. Mr. Sultan bin Hassan Al-Jamali, Secretary-General of the National Human Rights Committee; Major General Nasser Mohammed Issa Al-Sayed, Director of the General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions; Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al-Horr, President of the Community College; and Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Muftah, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, alongside several officers and members of the Standing Committee for Penal and Correctional Institutions.

This graduation comes as part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to strengthen rehabilitation programs and expand educational opportunities for inmates, contributing to their academic and professional development and enhancing their chances for positive reintegration into society.

It also embodies the ongoing cooperation between the General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions and the Community College of Qatar in supporting the academic rehabilitation journey of the inmates.
