Paris--Europe's main markets closed lower on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies sliding 0.21 percent to end the day at 6,790.04 points.
The CAC 40 in Paris lost 1.28 percent to 4,857.66 points, and Frankfurt's DAX 30 dropped 1.18 percent to 11,064.92 points.
