DOHA: The Ministry of Business and Trade is organising a conference on corporate social responsibility on May 28 and 29 at the Ritz-Carlton.
The two-day event is part of the Ministry’s effort to deepen the culture of corporate responsibility in the local trade and industry and encourage better practices, the Minister of Business and Trade, H E Sheikh Jasem bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, said in a statement yesterday.
Companies should pay more attention to this aspect as it is part corporate governance. Corporate responsibility should help sustainable economic development in the country.
The conference will host a number of experts from local and International companies, and discuss a number of issues including the role of governments in applying policies and programs related to corporate responsibility in the context of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The event will focus on how to create a network for companies that are committed to corporate responsibility and how to benefit from the experiences of international companies, the statement said.
