Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has reinforced spiritual awareness among fasting individuals through a wide range of Ramadan outreach programmes, including the organisation of more than 100 lectures, distribution of 2,000 Ramadan kits, and dedicated activities for mosque retreat participants (i‘tikaf).
Implemented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, the initiatives formed part of a comprehensive Ramadan plan aimed at strengthening faith-based values and reinforcing the religious identity of society.
Key programmes included “Nafahat Ramadan,” the Ramadan seminar series “And Secured Them from Fear,” major mosque lectures, Ramadan kits distribution, and activities at da’wah centres and i‘tikaf sites.
The ministry’s efforts reflected its commitment to making the most of the holy month by hosting a distinguished group of scholars and preachers from across the Islamic world. These engagements enriched the religious discourse, strengthened community bonds, and elevated public faith awareness.
Major mosques across the country witnessed vibrant religious activity, with more than 100 lectures and diverse Ramadan events targeting all segments of society. The programmes revitalised the educational and advisory role of mosques while fostering community cohesion. In addition, scholars and preachers conducted field visits to schools and institutions, both within the country and in some external areas.
The lectures covered Qur’anic interpretation, Islamic jurisprudence, the Prophet’s biography, and contemporary family and youth issues. These initiatives contributed to instilling faith values among young people and strengthening ties between educational institutions and the wider community.
The ministry also concluded the 12th edition of its Ramadan intellectual seminar series “And Secured Them from Fear” (2026), held at Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque after Taraweeh prayers. The four-day event attracted large audiences and featured leading scholars, thinkers, and academics from Qatar and abroad.
The sessions addressed contemporary intellectual challenges, promoting moderation and cultural security while encouraging informed dialogue on strengthening faith and resilience within Muslim societies.
